2 home robberies reported on 1 Oregon street overnight

OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Oregon police are investigating two burglaries in the 3500 block of Worden Road overnight.

Police say the suspect or suspects did not have to try very hard to get inside one of the homes, because homeowners left the back door unlocked. According to police, $260, an iPad and credit cards were stolen. The homeowner has since canceled the credit cards.

Police are also processing the report for a second burglary to see what property was stolen and if the two cases are related.

"It's scary. I can't believe that there's someone out their prowling around," said Kurt Bussin, who has lived on Worden for more than a year. "They were daring enough to do two robberies in one night. That itself is a bit intimidating."

Neighbors who have lived on the street longer are just as concerned.

"This makes me want to, like, lock my doors and make sure, like, everything is good and watch my neighbors. I'm, like, worried for them," said Corey Stel.

Stel and his parents have lived in their home for nine years. He says one way to prevent these crimes is for residents to stay alert.

"Neighbors can, like, watch out for other people," said Stel.

At this point, police do not have any leads in the case. Anyone with more information is urged to call the Oregon Police Department at 419-698-7064.
