Friends remember Beaufort Co. man found dead

We're learning more from close friends about a Beaufort County man shot and killed while trying to sell his truck on craigslist in Charleston.

The body of 25 year-old William Alexander Apps was found Monday night in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Apps was going to school in Charleston, but he was a graduate of Beaufort Academy, where close friends are shocked about his death.

"I was shocked at first," said Apps' former teacher Bill Dalton. "Obviously, anyone that young you don't expect to hear that they've died. The more I found out about it. The more irate Ibecame about how incredibly stupid and pointless it was."

According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, Apps was trying to sell his 2006 pick up truck on Craig's List. The two men who responded to the add, 19 year-old Jquan Scott and 20 year old Isaac Williams are now charged in relation to Apps' death.

Officials say these two men got Apps in the passengers seat of the truck and at some point during the drive, Apps was shot in the back of the head and his body dumped in Mt. Pleasant.

Dalton says he was a great student. He was involved in theater and sports, and his presence will be missed.

"Such a senseless act to such a good guy with such a bright future," says Dalton.

Scott is charged with murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a firearm. Williams is charged with kidnapping.
