Cleveland police have launched an investigation after finding a body on the city's east side.

Police say a person walking in the area of E. 105th and Hampden Avenue saw a body lying in an alleyway in the 10600 block of Madison Court and called police.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 8:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified black male with multiple gun shots to the back.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the victim was in his 20s.

The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
