Tuscaloosa police have arrested a man accused of stealing a laptop and an iPhone from someone who wanted to sell him his computer.
The robbery happened just after 1 p.m. Thursday in the 5500 block of South Highway 69. Police say the suspect, 20-year-old Antwan Laderrick Adams, met up with the victim to buy his laptop from him.
Adams asked the seller to get into his car to discuss the laptop sale. Once the victim got inside, Addams pulled out a gun and demanded the victim get out of the vehicle and leave behind his laptop and his iPhone 5.
The victim got out of the car and Adams fled the scene. The victim then reported the robbery to police.
Investigators from the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office teamed up to identify the suspect as Adams. They served a search warrant at his home in the 2300 block of Crabtree Road and found the laptop inside, but not the iPhone.
Police took Adams into custody for questioning and found probable cause to arrest him on a first degree robbery charge. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
