BARGAINOMICS LADY - Judy Bates - The Bargainomics Lady - joined us with a few deals this morning! She found a Talbot white cotton/linen shirt at The Foundry Thrift Store in Cullman for $2.99. The tank she is wearing was on a $1 clearance rack at Walmart. Judy says if you're a tub bather and you use a soap bar to bathe with, the majority of the residue that creates the ring around the tub isn't from your skin - it's from soap residue. Switching to a liquid soap product will eliminate most of the tub ring problem and, whether you prefer tub baths or showers, it'll also help if you have a problem with dry skin. And there's no need to spend a lot of money on fancy brands and products. The same stuff you use on your head is great for your skin, including inexpensive shampoos like Suave and White Rain. If you have really dry skin, try using a shampoo and conditioner in one. And speaking of conditioner, here's a shocker: that stuff that grows on your legs, ladies, is the same stuff that grows on your head: hair. So what's the best and least expensive product you can use when shaving your legs. Regular ol' hair conditioner. Judy found a huge bottle on clearance at Big Lots for 44 cents. Looking for something fun to do this week? Thru this Saturday, the Jackson County Fair is going on in Veterans Memorial Park in Scottsboro. Admission is only $4 for adults; $3 for kids ages 4 to 12; and FREE for kids 3 and under. And there's live country music Friday & Saturday night. For more information, visit www.JacksonCountyFairScottsboro.org. And lastly, if you're in the market for furniture, Kohl's website has a huge clearance sale with up to 70% off on chairs, bar stools, coffee tables, end tables, & more. One example is this $279 accent chair for $84. That's www.Kohls.com. If you missed any of my info, you can find it all on the Good Day Alabama page of my website, www.Bargainomics.com.

OUR HOUSE - All Plumbing systems develop clogs, there is simply no way to avoid it. However, most stopped-up sinks, and plugged toilets can be cleared without having to call in a Plumber. David Cobbin hre from Marvin's Building Materials & Home Centers showed us some simple tips on How To Unclog A Stopped Up Drain. The simplest way to unclog a stopped up drain is liquid drain cleaner. It is usually the most effective and easiest to use. There are three basic types of liquid drain cleaner. The first is a basic drain opener that dissolves the clog at the point of the stoppage. The second is a build-up remover, that clears the walls of the drain to help prevent future blockages.  The third is a septic tank cleaner. This too is a preventative product, designed to keep your septic tank clear and clean. He also recommends you follow all warnings and directions listed on the package; keep all liquid drain openers locked up and out of reach of children, don't mix different drain openers; and coat the outer surface of the sink and drain with  petroleum jelly/Vaseline to protect the finish. You can also use a plunger or auger. Plungers can take care of most simple clogs. Augers need to be used with the liquid drain cleaner and plunger don't work. If that still doesn't work, called a licensed plumber for help.
