Person in wheelchair struck, killed in Madison

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police have identified the man killed Tuesday night when the wheelchair he was riding was struck on South Gallatin Pike.

Stephen Buchanan, 60, of Madison, was in the roadway outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a Jeep driven by Shetica Batey-Watson, 41, of Nashville.

According to police, the preliminary contributing factor to the crash appeared to be Buchanan's presence in the roadway. No charges were filed against Batey-Watson, who was transported to Skyline Medical Center with minor injuries, on Tuesday night.
