WALKER COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A Walker County man's body was found early Sunday morning after he was killed in an apparent hit and run, authorities said.

The body has been identified as Adam Welsey Myers, a 33-year-old white male. A passerby found his body around 4 a.m. on Blackwell Dairy Road, about a mile behind the Walker County Baptist Medical Center.

Jasper police first responded to the scene before handing the case over to the Walker County Sheriff's Office, according to Police Chief Connie Rowe.

Police believe Myers was traveling south on Blackwell Dairy Road when he was hit by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The Walker County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case. If anyone has any information on this case they are asked to contact the sheriff's office at (205) 302-6464.
