MONTGOMERY, Ala.—With the August 31 opener against Jacksonville State only 11 days away the Hornets have started to turn their attention to the Gamecocks.
First-year head coach Bill Clark will bring a talented team into Montgomery that is looking to better their 2012 season in which they finished 6-5.
"That game with Jacksonville State will be here before we know it," cReggie Barlow said. "We have completed our preseason camp and now we must turn our attention to JSU. They definitely have our attention. We know they are going to be big, fast, tough and well coached."
While the Hornets may do some tweaking on their two-deep, for the most part that has been settled and those players will begin to get a lot of the practice reps.
"It is going to be hot during the first few games, and we know we will be playing a lot of players," Barlow said. "The players on our two-deep will have to get ready to go in that first game and we are always keeping our eyes out for eight or 10 other players to step in and contribute, and they will need to."
The Hornets will take Wednesday off as it will be the first day of classes. ASU will be back on the practice field Thursday and Friday at 3 p.m.
