- AIDS Alabama presents the 8th Annual Red Hot for the Cause Casino Night. AIDS Alabama will recreate the glamour of the Roaring Twenties at Birmingham's premiere Casino Night event on August 10th from 7pm- 11pm at WorkPlay, located at 500 23rd Street South in Birmingham. The evening will include hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and jazz along with a silent auction and an exclusive Texas Hold'em poker tournament. Guests can try their luck at blackjack, craps, roulette and poker. Guests are encouraged to attend the gala garbed with all the glitz and glamour of the Roaring Twenties, or in cocktail attire.  General admission tickets are $50 and include hors d'oeuvres, two beer or wine tickets, and $1,000 worth of play money to be exchanged at the end of the night for prizes. VIP admission tickets are $75 and include VIP access at the door and cash bars, an exclusive prize drawing, hors d'oeuvres four wine or beer tickets, and $1,500 worth of play money. Red Ribbon Poker Tournament tickets are $25 with the admission ticket of your choice. Poker Tournament seats are limited. CRUSING FOR KINGS RANCH - Formerly Rollin' for the Ranch, this charity Motorcycle Ride & Dice Run was created and organized by the Greater Birmingham Apartment Association to benefit The King's Home (formerly The King's Ranch). 2013 will mark this event's 9th year, and will be held on August 10th. Registration begins on August 10th at 8am at Harley Davidson Trussville. Last bike out will be at 9am. From Harley Davidson ...in Trussville, there will be two stops along the way and it always ends in Shelby County at The King's Home Campus, with a light lunch and plenty of Prizes.  $25 for riders $15 for passengers. This year's second stop will be at Barber Motorsports Park. The third stop will be at Hooters on Hwy 280, before heading to The King's Home.  Past events have featured over 100 motorcycle riders and raised more than $24,000. It is a big hit with the children at The King's Home who are always thrilled with the sights and sounds of a steady stream of riders roaring onto the campus.
