Authorities release photo of "vehicle of interest" in Hayneville postal worker shooting case

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Authorities who are investigating the case of a Hayneville postal worker who was robbed and shot are releasing a photograph of a "vehicle of interest".

The photo shows what appears to be a gold 2002 to 2005 model Ford Explorer. No additional information about the vehicle or suspect is currently known.

Postal Inspectors are continuing their investigation of the shooting which occurred at the Hayneville, Alabama Post Office on Thursday, August 1, 2013, between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible for this crime.

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers is also offering a $1000.00 reward for any information that leads to the arrests of those responsible, to be paid within 30 days of the arrests.  

Anyone with information is asked to call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455, Alabama Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-392-8011, or CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
