MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The City of Montgomery recorded its 32nd homicide on 2013 late Friday evening following a domestic situation that ended with a murder/suicide.

MPD detectives say 23-year-old Terrance D. Phillips fatally shot his wife, 24-year-old Tabia L. Woolfork-Phillips, before turning the gun on himself.

Authorities responded to a shots fired call at 8:32 P.M. in the 6000 Block of Portsmouth Court. When fire, medical, and police units attempted to make contact with the man inside, they received no answer.

Members of the MPD SWAT team eventually entered the home where they found both people dead.

WSFA 12 News cameras recorded members of the SWAT team removing a small child from the home who did not appear to be injured.

No additional details have been released.
