Birmingham police investigating new homicide

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police responded to a shooting in the 500 block of 35th Street in Ensley on Thursday morning.

Officers say 24-year-old Montez Leatherwood was sitting in his white Cadillac when he was shot several times. His body was found around 4 a.m.

There is no word if police have made any arrests and police have not revealed the motive behind the shooting.

Two men were seen being put into a police vehicle. Officers say the two men are not suspects, but they believe they may have information that could solve the homicide.
