Here is what you saw on Good Day Alabama for July 17, 2013:
PIZITZ BUILDING - The Pizitz Building in downtown Birmingham has been closed since 1981. Now new life is coming to the former department store. Clare Huddleston took us on a tour and revealed the plans to renovate the historic building into apartments, offices, and a grocery store.

JEH JEH LIVE - Pastor Lee A. Henderson, Sr. & Tabernacle of Praise Ministries present the Dorinda Clark Cole Alabama Regional Singers, Musicians & Arts Conference on Thursday, July 18 thru Sunday, July 21, 2013 to be held at Tabernacle of Praise Ministries (3025 NE Wood Drive, Birmingham, AL 35215). Many of the events are free to the public. For more information, please go to www.alregionalsmc.com or call Tabernacle of Praise Ministries @ 205-853-3933.
BEACHFEST - Before your favorite team takes the field in the Fall of 2013, bring the entire family to the white, sandy beaches of Gulf Shores & Orange Beach for the 2nd SEC BeachFest, a championship celebration that will kick-off the 2013 college football season. The event will take place the weekend of August 15-18, 2013. What better way to celebrate the conference's storied history of athletic and academic achievement than where SEC families go to play? Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism became an official corporate sponsor of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in July of 2011. The unique sponsorship initiative, which was created as a result of the efforts to overcome the 2010 oil spill, allows the Tourism bureau to partner with the SEC to restore the region to a prominent vacation destination for families across the southeast. The three day event includes Legendary Coaches, Golf Scramble, 5K Run & More! For tickets or more information, visit http://secbeachfest.com/.
