ESPN on high alert for SEC media days

It's the official start of college football!

The SEC Media Days event is being held in Hoover and ESPN senior producer coordinator Mike Moore is on the move.

Moore's job is straightforward; make sure things go well with the ESPN broadcasts, broadcasting live for the first time since SEC Media Days started more than 20 years ago.

Moore says the decision to do so was a no brainer.

"You have the power of the SEC and the fact the conference has been so dominant over the last 7 years with so many championships, specifically Alabama," Moore said.

There was a time when the network only had one camera for the event. That was back in 2009. Moore felt at the time that had to change.

"I went back and told them 'guys, we gotta do more. We're missing it. There's too much energy here not to capture it," Moore said.

And so today the big ESPN bus is at the Winfrey Hotel along with more than 60 personnel from the network.

"It completely changes the day Alabama gets here," said Moore.

Day one of the SEC Media Days at the hotel. The real craziness Moore says starts when the rowdy fans arrive on Wednesday, a good warm up to start another season of college football.

For Mike Moore that means it's show time.
