A second person is behind bars charged with murder in connection with Montgomery's 29th homicide of 2013. Rico Gilmer joins two others arrested in connection with the incident that ended in the death of Lelve Watkins.
Police have charged 20-year-old Rico Gilmer with capital murder in connection with the July 1 shooting death of 25-year-old Lelve Watkins.
Police say Williams was killed when a drug transaction resulted in the exchange of gunfire in the 4700 block of Narrow Lane Road.
Gilmer, who was shot and wounded during the incident, was arrested following his release from a local hospital on Sunday.
Police have also charged 23-year-old Dontavious Jones with capital murder in connection with Watkins' death. Jones was also wounded during the incident and arrested after his release from the hospital.
A third person, 20-year-old Shon Wright Jr., was charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance in connection with the incident. Wright was also wounded during the course of the incident and was arrested following his release from the hospital.
Watkins was Montgomery's 29th homicide of 2013.
