FDA issues warning over flammable spray sunscreens

Source: FDA Source: FDA

The FDA has issued a warning that spray sunscreen could catch fire if used or worn around an open flame.

The FDA says these products contain flammable ingredients like alcohol. The incidents reported to the FDA involved burns while lighting a cigarette, standing next to a citronella candle, approaching a grill and doing welding work.

To stay safe, FDA medical experts suggest avoiding open flames even if you believe you have allowed anough time for the sunscreen to dry. Also look for sunscreen labeled non-flammable.
