BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Alabaster Police Department says they have arrested a man on sexual abuse charges.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, police say 57-year-old Eligio Rios-Martinez has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12-years-old.

According to officers, Rios-Martinez lives in the 1600 block of Kent Dairy Road where his wife runs an in-home daycare. Chief Curtis Rigney says two children who attend the daycare told their mother that Rios-Martinez has molested them. The mother reported to police.

Rigney says Alabaster police are working with the Alabama Department of Human Resources to make sure there are no other victims. Anyone who believes their child may have had contact with Rios-Martinez should call 663-7401.

Rios-Martinez is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $400,000 bond.
