BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham Police say that a suspect arrested and charged with kidnapping a baby lied about her name and age.

Sgt. Johnny Williams says the girl gave investigators a false name and said that she was 19 years old. Upon further investigation, officers determined that the suspect is actually 15 years old.

The girl was initially charged as an adult but will now be charged in juvenile court.

Tuesday, the Alabama Department of Public Safety issued a missing child alert for 10-month-old De'Anthony Dejuan Kelly and his 14-year-old captor, prompting a multi-agency search for the baby across several states. Kelly was reportedly taken by the 14-year-old girl from his godmother's home in Loveman Village around 1 a.m. Monday.

U.S. Marshals found the baby safe and unharmed along with the 14-year-old girl and a the suspect in Dallas, Texas around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

In light of this information and per FOX6 policy, we will no longer use the suspect's picture.
