7 suspects arrested in Southtown drug raid

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police have released the names and charges for seven people arrested in unrelated cases during a raid in the Southtown housing complex.

The raid came after a months-long investigation into illegal drug sales within the same housing community. Southtown is located off of University Blvd. near St. Vincent's hospital.

On Tuesday, narcotics detectives with the Birmingham Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and DEA agents conducted a search of seven addresses and arrested seven suspects.

During the raid, officers also confiscated meth, cocaine, marijuana as well as weapons including a handgun and short barrel shotgun.

Police released the following names and charges on Friday, June 14:

Debra Richard, 52, of Birmingham - unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana

Charles Stephens, 36, of Birmingham - unlawful possession of marijuana

Felecia Gilmore, 30, of Birmingham - unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana

Kimberly Felder, 30, of Birmingham - unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana

Tyrone Shackleford, 31, of Birmingham - unlawful possession of marijuana

Lucious Brown, 43, of Birmingham - certain person forbidden to possess a firearm

Rodrigus Dunn, 35, of Birmingham - possession of a short barrel shotgun, unlawful possession of controlled substance warrant

All of the suspects were taken into custody in the Jefferson County Jail.
