TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Tuscaloosa police responded to reports of a man found dead inside his home on Thursday morning.

Officers rushed to a house on 22nd Street around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Evidence of a struggle points to the case being a homicide and robbery is believed to be the motive.

Investigators have identified the victim as 67-year-old George Foster Jr.

Neighbors say they believe Foster is well known in Tuscaloosa's west side for owning some businesses and promoting several blues festivals.

"This was the type of guy that was some help to the community. He was helpful, a businessman, a good guy. I would say he was a good guy," neighbor Karen Davis said.

"We just feel like he shouldn't have been murdered," Davis added.

Police have not released any information on suspects in the case.

Homicide investigators opened a death investigation after a woman's body was found in the same house several months ago.

Police wouldn't offer a cause of death in that case, but they say these two incidents are not related.
