Good Day Alabama for June 6, 2013

Here is what you saw on Good Day Alabama for June 6, 2013:

BARONS & HEART GALLERY -  Spend an afternoon at the lovely new Regions Field.  The Heart Gallery Classic is a family friendly event that includes a Baron's Game, food, drinks, T-shirt, a hat for your dad, and a unique opportunity to play catch on the field with your child.  So grab your gloves and head to Regions Field on Sunday, June 16th! Heart Gallery Alabama's mission is to promote adoption of children currently in Alabama's foster care system. There are over 6000 children in foster care in the state of Alabama. Of these, over 600 are available for adoption. Many of these children will be adopted by their foster parents. The rest are still waiting. In order to promote adoption for these waiting children, Heart Gallery Alabama recruits professional photographers to take meaningful portraits that capture the unique spirit of each child. It videos and/or audio interviews each child (which can be seen/heard on their bio page under "The Children" tab). Their portraits are put on display in a variety of venues across the state where prospective adoptive parents can learn more about the children in Alabama who are still waiting on a forever family.  Heart Gallery Alabama strives to help find a permanent, loving family for every child in Alabama's foster care system.
