Autauga Co. manhunt ends with suspect's capture

The man at the center of an Autauga County manhunt in January, and again in May, was taken into custody late Thursday night by authorities.

Autauga County Chief Deputy Joe Sedinger confirms that suspect David Hunter was captured near County Road 68 and Interstate 65.

Wednesday, deputies attempted to serve a robbery warrant at a residence off of Hwy. 31 early, but deputies noticed a man jump out of a window at that residence and take off running. That man turned out to be Hunter, the same Hunter wanted in connection with a January domestic violence and police chase incident.

Prattville police officers were called to the scene of a domestic violence incident back on January 18. When officers arrived on the scene that day they witnessed an altercation inside a vehicle. Police activated their blue lights. That's when the Selma resident allegedly hit the gas on the vehicle, ramming an undercover police officer's unit and sending Prattville police on a chase.

Police pursued Hunter to a mobile home park on Hwy. 82 where he crashed into a mobile home and bailed out of his vehicle.

Hunter took off into the woods, and that was the last time he was seen by authorities for months, until Wednesday when officers when to serve a warrant on someone else.

WSFA 12 News has a crew en route to the scene to gather additional information.
