Center Point traffic cameras may restart

Center Point could get the green light to restart its traffic cameras. The city stopped giving tickets from its red light cameras after people complained about the appeal process. Governor Bentley is expected to sign a bill to change the way appeals are handled.

The cameras are located at two intersections that people in the area consider dangerous.

"I believe they do good. I do believe they slow people down in a very dangerous area. I find it hard to dispute them when it's on camera, but I do know that this is a difficult economy and it's expensive to get a ticket," said Suzanne Parker, who favors the cameras.

Each ticket for drivers caught running a stop sign cost $100. The city made as much as $100,000 a month from those tickets.
