BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Fifty years ago this evening, a preacher privately told a group of students that they were going to change the course of the Civil Rights campaign in Birmingham.

Even after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. came to Birmingham, the campaign was faltering and the goal of filling the jails with protestors was falling short.

Those children became a part of what is now known as the Children's March. In a special report, FOX6 News anchor Scott Richards will share the story behind the march. You will see rarely seen surveillance photos from the ABI during the demonstrations, hear what is was like inside the meetings where preachers appealed to their parishioners to march, and stories from the marchers themselves.

FOX6 News hopes you will join us Wednesday evening at 9:30 p.m. for this special story.
