Seared Tilapia Fish Sandwiches for Four

Seared Tilapia Fish Sandwiches for Four



  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped sweet pickles
  • 2 tablespoons chopped red onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4  - 5 to 7 ounce Tilapia fillets
  • Butter or oil for searing
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • paprika
  • parsley
  • 4 hoagie rolls 
  • 2 medium  tomatoes, cut into 8 slices
  • lettuce



For Tartar Sauce:

In a small bowl, combine the mayo, pickles, onions lemon juice and garlic powder. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.


 In a skillet on low heat, melt about 1/4 cup of butter or  heat the oil.  Season  the tilapia fillets with  the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic and parsley, all to taste. Sear the Tilapia, turning once, until the fish is cooked through, about 6 minutes. Toast the hoagies.

For 1 sandwich, layer 1 tilapia fillet on the bottom slice of the hoagie, followed by 2 slices of tomato and  lettuce  Spread the top slice of hoagie with tartar sauce, close the sandwich. Repeat with remaining hoagies and filling. Arrange on a serving platter and serve.
