HOUSTON, TX (KLTV) -

Pastor Joel Osteen is reassuring church members and fans that, despite claims of an apparent internet hoax, he is not giving up his Christian faith.

A website claiming to belong to Osteen's Lakewood Church says the pastor has questioned Christianity for years and that he intends to resign.

Osteen says he was at the gym Monday morning when his phone started to ring. His assistant answered more than 500 phone calls.

"I'm not angry," Osteen says, "I don't feel like a victim. I think a lot of it is my personality, and I feel too blessed that life is too short to let things like this get you down."

Lakewood Church says their legal department is looking into the hoax and will decide on further action.
