BLOUNT COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

State troopers say two teenagers killed in a crash Saturday night in Blount County were not wearing seatbelts.

Kamron O'Neal Sanford, an 18-year-old from Walnut Grove, and his passenger Kayla Ann Baldwin, a 16-year-old from Boaz, died in the crash.

Authorities say Sanford was driving a 2001 Dodge Stratus when it collided with a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse on County Road 39 about four miles east of Oneonta. The wreck happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6.

The driver of the Eclipse, an 18-year-old from Altoona, was airlifted to UAB for his injuries. There is no update on his condition.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the wreck, which was the second wreck involving two fatalities in Blount County that week. A crash on Highway 75 on Friday claimed the lives of a 22-year-old man and a 31-year-old man.
