SPRINGVILLE, AL (WBRC) -

Springville Police are searching for the woman they believe robbed a Dollar General with some type of long barrel rifle.

The robbery happened Monday morning just after opening at a Dollar General in Springville. Police say that the suspect entered the store, walked around and then left. She returned with a black jacket to hide a weapon. The suspect then walked to the store office where the clerk was counting money.

Chief Bill Lyle says that the suspect forced the female clerk from the office to the front of the store. The clerk was forced to hand over two tills full of money and the suspect fled in a white SUV.

The clerk who was at the store during the crime says the rifle looked like an AR-15 but police cannot confirm that.
