JEMISON, AL (WBRC) -

A small community in Chilton County is coping with a deadly crash involving an entire family.

The two-car collision happened on Highway 31 around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Mike Chancellor died in the crash while bringing his family home from an outing. His wife Beth was listed in critical condition last night but officials tell FOX6 News that she is improving. The Chancellor's 8-year-old child is in serious condition and their 1-year-old is expected to be okay.

Thorsby police have turned over the investigation of the accident to state troopers, who say that another man involved in the wreck has also been hospitalized. No charges have been filed in this case to date.

Those close to the Chancellors say they were dedicated parents and "everyone's praying for them."
