Ben Little's election challenge dropped by judge

Former Anniston City Council Member Ben Little has lost a recent round in court.

Little had challenged the results in the election last August, in which he lost to Seyram Selase. He alleged multiple voting irregularities, including city officials being at voting places, ballots being re-fed to machines and even voters being allowed to vote twice.

Circuit Judge John Thomason threw out Little's challenge. City attorneys had argued Little could not provide any such irregularity would have cost him the election. Little says he wanted to air other complaints as well, including a dispute over posting a civil bond after filing the complaint in court.

"I was just stating the fact that he knew the facts. And if he allowed the facts to be talking, if the facts come from a donkey, it's still a fact and still the truth, and it still should, still prevail. But as I stated before, they came at me like Goliath went after David," said Little.

Little says he now plans to file a voting rights act challenge in federal court. He lost to Selase by a two-to-one margin.
