BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Tuscaloosa police have arrested a condo property manager on 19 counts of third degree burglary.

Police say several burglaries were being reported since September 2012 at the Summit Condominiums on Veterans Memorial Parkway. In all cases, there was no sign of forced entry.

Jodi Lynn Parden, 33, was the property manager at the condos and has been charged in the thefts. Police say Parden had access to the master keys for each unit, and they also believe she stole small items that would not be easily missed.

"That's one of the reasons this went on for so long. Some of those weren't discovered until the property was recovered and word got around in the apartment complex that this was going on," Captain Phil Simpson with Tuscaloosa Police said.

After police took Parden in for questioning, they found probable cause to charge her with 19 counts of burglary. She remains behind bars on $190,000 bond.

One of the residents, 26-year-old "Molly," who didn't want to be identified, said he home was burglarized twice.

"It bothers me that someone is working here that had the access that she did and was able to get away with this for so long," Molly said.

Molly says she's only recovered about half of what she claims was stolen. She described Parden as someone who was very friendly and made residents feel like they were safe.

"Not your typical thief I guess you would think of," Molly said.

When FOX6 News called the condo for comments, a manager in the office directed us to Bill Lunsford Construction for comment. So far they have not returned our calls.
