Photographer Spider Martin, who grew up outside Birmingham, took the photos featured in the exhibit during the 1950s and 60s. The photos, which are part of an exhibit from the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, went on display at the conclusion of this morning's unity march.

The exhibit is open from Jan. 21 until March 15 at Tuscaloosa's Westervelt Transportation Museum on Jack Warner Parkway at Queen City Boulevard.
