BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) -

The owner of a stolen chocolate Lab is offering a $300 reward for the return of the dog.

Abby the Lab was in the right place at the wrong time New Year's Eve when someone carjacked the truck she was in from the Hope Animal Clinic.

Tyler Duncan had come to the clinic to pick up his golden retriever and left Abby, his brother's dog, in his silver F-150 pickup with the window cracked. He turned the engine off, but left the keys inside.

The truck was recovered but Abby is still missing. She is 9-years-old and between 50 and 70 pounds. The owners and Bessemer police are asking anyone with information on Abby's location to call police at 205-428-3541 or 205-425-2411.
