- The NAC (North Arts Council) 37th annual Christmas craft show is this weekendat the Gardendale Civic Center. It strives to remain a true arts and craft show by accepting only vendors with handmade, hand crafted and hand painted items. It includes over 60 vendors with a variety of crafts, such as jewelry, hair bows, childrens clothing, personalized gifts, crochet, embroidery, wood art, soaps, etc. The Craft Show offers FREE admission and FREE parking with door prizes given throughout each. Santa and Mrs Claus will be available for pictures on Saturday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm for just $10.  Mrs. Claus will also be signing for the hearing impaired. ASK THE DOCTOR - Dr. Stan Hewlett, a general surgeon at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, joined us to take viewer questions. He discussed robotic surgery and specifically robotic gallbladder surgery. Robotic surgery allows for gallbladder removal through one small incision in the bellybutton. Open gallbladder surgery left a large scar under the rib cage and required a longer hospital stay. This procedure allows for less scarring and less pain post op. Patients can be discharged faster and can return to their lifestyle faster with robotic surgery.

GARDENING - Jon Culver with Sweet Peas Garden Center joins us to discuss table arrangements for events such as Thanksgiving and football gatherings. For more information or gardening advice from Jon Culver, visit Sweet Peas Garden Shop at 2829 Linden Ave, Homewood... The phone number is (205) 879-3839. Or you can email him at

NATIONAL EATING HEALTHY DAY - American Heart Association offices across Alabama encourage companies and individuals to make healthy eating choices today for National Eating Healthy Day.  The day is dedicated to promoting and improving the health and wellness of all Americans. It's vital to maintain a healthy and well-balanced eating pattern as well as engage in physical activity - not just on that day, but every day. The AHA encourages you to make small changes each day to incorporate healthier food choices.  For more information on heart health visit the My Heart My Life campaign at
