Saban: We still have to improve

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama head coach Nick Saban isn't resting. Even after beating 11th ranked Mississippi State 38-7, the coach says that his team needs to continue to improve. The Bulldogs came into the game undefeated on Saturday, but fell short against the Crimson Tide.

"We certainly have a lot of respect for Mississippi State," said Saban as he begun his post game news conference. "You don't get to be 7-0 by accident."

Saban says he is proud of the way the team competed in the game. According to the coach, it was important for Alabama to begin the game of a fast start.

"You have to prepare yourself for a 15 round fight," said Saban. "You can't win the fight in the first round, but you can lose it."

Near the end of the game, Coach Saban was seen being upset with some backup players who had entered the game. Saban says his concern with the players had nothing to do with letting the Bulldogs score.

"I got upset with the backup players because they're better than that. It's not about a shutout; it's about them playing their best football," said Saban.
