Troopers release identities of 2 people killed in I-59 wreck

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Two people in their 80's were killed in a wreck on I-59 in Tuscaloosa County Thursday morning. State troopers released the identities of the victims this afternoon.

Ellis Andrews, 84, and Lorene Andrews, 83, were killed when their 2005 Toyota Camry collided with two other cars as they were entering I-59 from an on-ramp, according to state troopers. They were both from West Point, Miss. Neither victim was wearing a seatbealt at the time of the wreck.

The wreck happened at approximately 5:45 a.m. at the 67.7 mile marker near the toll bridge.

The other cars involved were a 2005 Saturn and 2009 Ford Focus. Four people were injured in the wreck and taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. All four of the injured people were wearing seatbelts, state troopers say.

The accident is still under investigation.
