Alabama #1 in BCS standings

The Alabama Crimson Tide is ranked #1 in this week's BCS standings, the first rankings of the 2012 college football season.

The ranking was announced Sunday night on ESPN. The BCS ranking at the end of the season determines which two teams will play for the BCS national championship.

Here is this week's BCS top 10 rankings:

1 Alabama
2 Florida
3 Oregon
4 Kansas State
5 Notre Dame
6 LSU
7 South Carolina
8 Oregon State
9 Oklahoma
10 USC



Auburn is not ranked in this week's BCS standings.

The BCS rankings are determined by computer rankings, the AP Poll, and the USA Today Coaches' Poll. Those three are equally weighted in the BCS rankings.

Earlier Sunday, the Associated Press and the USA Today Coaches polls were released. The following shows the team, the (number) of first place votes, the team's season record, the number of total points, and last week's ranking:

He is the first Mississippi State player to reach 20 home runs, 20 doubles, 70 RBI, and the first SEC hitter to do so since 2000.
