BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) -

Bessemer police announced this week that they have arrested the man suspected of robbing a BB&T Bank on 18th Street North Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Lawrence Edward Harris, 51, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in a joint investigation with Bessemer police. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail earlier this week on one count of first degree robbery and three counts of second degree possession of a forged instrument. His bond totals $105,000.

Harris drew attention with the media and the public because he was wearing an Alabama baseball cap while he allegedly robbed the bank. Police released several surveillance photos of Harris at the bank.
