From the office of Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox:
This afternoon, Mayor Walter Maddox and Mayor "Kip" Holden, of Baton Rouge, LA, spoke about the challenges of disaster recovery as well as the upcoming BCS National Championship Bowl.
Mayor Holden wagered Mayor Maddox three gallons of Raising Cane's infamous "Cane's sauce," should LSU lose to Alabama. Raising Cane's is a chicken restaurant started in Baton Rouge by an LSU alumnus, and is a love of Louisiana residents across the state. In return, Mayor Maddox has wagered three gallons of Alabama's beloved Dreamland's barbeque sauce.
Mayor Maddox expressed his excitement about the game and how much it means to the citizens of Tuscaloosa. He also wishes everyone, whether you wear crimson and white or purple and gold, to have safe and enjoyable time.
