Man attempts to rob bank in Vestavia Hills

Vestavia Hills police officers are on the lookout for someone who attempted to rob the BBVA Compass Bank on Liberty Parkway today.

A white male between the ages of 50 and 60 entered the bank and demanded money around 9:45 a.m. The teller did not hand over any cash, so the suspect left the bank without incident, said Lt. Brian Gilham with the Vestavia Hills Police Department.

The suspect was wearing a red flannel shirt, brown pants, gloves and a fedora style hat and was carrying a brown briefcase.

Anyone with information about the suspect or bank robbery should contact the Vestavia Hills police department at 205-823-1153 or 205-978-0112.
