Digital billboard in Southside honors 8 Alabamians killed in 9/11

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A digital billboard in Birmingham displays the images of eight Alabamians who lost their lives a decade ago today in the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

The billboard is located in the Five Points South area across from Brother Bryan Park, at the corner of 22nd Street South and Magnolia Avenue.

The theme of the billboard is "Remembrance and Recovery." For the entire week of 9/11, the billboard will not contain any ads or community announcements--just the rotating images of eight people from Alabama who lost their lives in the attacks, along with photos from Ground Zero and 9/11 memorials in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania.

See an abbreviated version of the billboard's display on YouTube here. The billboard is owned by the law firm of Cory, Watson, Crowder, & DeGaris.
