Search continues for missing Hoover teen in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities are continuing to search for a missing 16-year-old Hoover boy swept away in rough waters churned up by Tropical Storm Lee.

Baldwin County officials identified the missing teen as Conrad Charleston Hathcoat of Hoover. Authorities say Hathcoat was staying at The Beach Club in Fort Morgan with his parents and two other family members. The teen was one of three teenagers who got caught in a rip current off Gulf Shores on Sunday night.

Two parents tried to help the teens but became distressed themselves. The parents and two of the teens eventually made it to shore with the help of lifeguards.

Several agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, were helping Monday with the search.
