Samford continues to discuss expansion with Homewood residents

Samford University is inviting Homewood city council members and residents to a meeting toinght about the university's proposed expansion plans. Sarah Lathan, the vice president of Samford's operations and planning, will be available to answer questions and show renderings of the proposed expansion project.

After the forum, Samford will also give residents and council members the opportunity to tour the proposed areas where the school hopes to expand.

The meeting will be held Thursday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the University's Flag Colonnade, located in the Beeson University Center on Talbird Circle.

Last week, Homewood residents met with council members to discuss ways to keep Samford from buying up residential property and encroaching on their neighborhood, specifically the three streets Cornelius Drive, Lakewood Drive and Currie Way.
