The following are comments to an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Thursday, July 7, 2011:
11 year old Kalice from Birmingham
They did it because they thought nobody would get injured or anything bad would happen and they did it in sense of thinking that they weren't going to hurt anybody. So, they probably shot it up in the air and it came down.
Trey from West Blocton
People never cease to baffle me. I have no clue on Earth as to what's going through the minds of people who load guns and fire rounds into the air. Do their brains tell them, hey, discharging a deadly weapon in such a manner is completely safe and in no way jeopardizes property or the health and well-being of others? Those people whose complete disregard could have such horrible repercussions need to be held in a cell for a while ... or maybe even institutionalized for an indefinite period of time.
Amelia from the Western Birmingham
People do dumb things when they don't think. Once you think first, most of the time you won't do it or either they haven't been raised right.
