Suspect charged in 79-year-old's death

ADGER, AL (WBRC) - Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies have charged a suspect in connection to a shooting where a 79-year-old man was killed.

Randy Christian with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning in the 2500 block of Betty Hill Road in Adger. 79-year-old Albert Neal Watson was killed.

An investigation into the death found it to be a homicide. Deputies say 47-year-old Dennis James Davis was captured on video leaving the home with the victim's wallet. The wallet was later found in Davis' wallet.

Davis is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on capital murder charges.
