Elderly woman cuts off internet access to millions

The gaming news site escapistmagazine.com is reporting that the actions of an elderly woman in the country of Georgia accidentally cut the internet off for millions of people across three countries.

The 75-year-old was digging at the time she struck and damaged a buried fiber optic cable. The damaged cable, being the access point for internet to neighboring Armenia, left 3.2 million Armenians without service as well as some users in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Authorities arrested the woman on suspicion of damaging property, but released her due to her age. She still could face 3 years in prison
