New tech could grab solar power through windows

A new technology is hoping to bridge the gap between being energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing.

Developed by a Pythagoras Solar, the product is used as a glass unit in places like windows and skylights. The units would then be able to insulate, shade and light and use solar energy to generate electricity.

Pythagoras Solar says the units can already be found in buildings in some larger cities. The panels are priced to pay for themselves after 5 years.
