TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A Tuscaloosa policeman has been charged with sexual abuse.
Sgt. Jason Thomas was arrested Wednesday and charged with first degree sexual abuse. The accusation was made by a 42-year old female who says the incident happened Sunday, March 27.
She told investigators she was walking along Highway 216 when the officer pulled up in his patrol car and later raped her outside the car on the road.
Thomas was taken to Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
Northport Police, ABI, and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
