BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Remember that controversial trip to Alaska we've been telling you about? Today a city councilor announced he will make the trip.
Councilor Steven Hoyt throws a big event every year called "Party with a Purpose" that's up for a big national award. Hoyt, likely paying for the trip with his own money, will go and hopefully bring home the award. The award ceremony will take place at the Neighborhoods USA Conference. Hoyt says it's a big compliment not only for him, but for the entire city.
Party with a Purpose is in its fifth year.
