BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Funeral arrangements have been determined for Robert Abernathy, the Bessemer man whose body was found in a wooded area in Alabaster over the weekend. Abernathy had been reported missing for over a week.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Abernathy's funeral service will be held Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home's chapel followed by his burial in Valhalla Cemetery.
Abernathy's wife says a box of index cards will be set up at the funeral home. She is asking everyone who attends to write a memory of Robby so she can show her children how much people cared about their dad.
